Hurry, employer registration ends January 31! Don’t miss this chance for your organization to be part of the free goDMV Commuter Competition. Commuter Connections is partnering with employers across the DMV to make commuting fun and rewarding through this special event. The competition is a no-cost way to boost employee morale while advancing your organization’s sustainability goals.

Here’s how it works: from April 1 through May 15, employees at your organization will track their sustainable trips using CommuterCash, a popular rewards app from Commuter Connections. Eligible commute modes include transit, biking, walking, scootering, carpooling, vanpooling, or teleworking. Employees who track their commutes earn two types of credit at the same time. First, employees earn CommuterCash rewards points, which are redeemable for real cash. Second, those same trips also earn goDMV Commuter Competition points, which are added to a participating organization’s team leaderboard.

Each weekday round‑trip during peak commute hours counts as two trips, helping employees earn cash faster while boosting overall score. Employees can also log up to four additional non‑commute sustainable trips per day, taken anytime, anywhere in the region, to qualify for chances to win prizes like gift cards and event tickets. These non‑commute trips also count toward your employer team’s totals, increasing your organization’s standing in the competition. Throughout the event, optional mini‑challenges and special goals give employees even more opportunities to earn rewards while driving up your organization’s team’s performance.

Employees participate individually, but when your organization registers for goDMV, their activity contributes as part of your employer’s team totals. Three small and three large employers will win based on total trips made by their team, receiving a trophy, plus a catered lunch and swag for participating employees. Winning employers also gain bragging rights as great places to work!

The CommuterCash app will feature a goDMV Commuter Competition leaderboard for top individual participants, plus a separate leaderboard highlighting top participating employers. Act now, as employer registration to be part of the free competition is only open through January 31 at goDMV.org. After you register your organization for goDMV, a member of the Commuter Connections regional employer outreach network will follow up to help you build your team and support you every step of the way.

Employees can sign up free starting February 1 by downloading the CommuterCash app and tapping the goDMV “Join Now” button. When an employee joins the goDMV Commuter Competition, if your organization registered to be part of the competition, their trips will be counted as part of your organization’s overall leaderboard totals.
