In order to calculate Monthly cost of commuting please use this formula:

monthly cost = ((distance * workdays * 0.070) + (distance * workdays * 0.48) + (distance * workdays * (price / mpg)) + (parking))

where:

distance: your daily round
trip commute distance from home to work (in miles)
workdays: number of days per month you normally work
price: gasoline proce per gallon
mpg: you average MPG
parking: amount that you pay for monthly parking
